Audi MLB key programming is often considered one of the more advanced locksmith jobs, but with KEYDIY KD-X4 and KD-MP, the process becomes much more manageable. In this tutorial, we walk through the complete MLB key adding procedure step by step, from collecting original key data to learning the new key into the vehicle.
To begin, connect the KDMP device to both the computer and power supply using the Type-C cable. Open the KEYDIY software on the PC, enter the programming section, and select the KDMP function.
The first step is identifying the original key. Inside the software, you can access the wiring diagram for the specific Audi MLB key. Following the diagram carefully, solder two wires onto the original key PCB and connect it to KEYDIY KD-MP device.
Once connected, collect the original key data through the software. The system will generate a verification code, which is required later during the key learning stage. After saving the code, remove the original key PCB and place the new key PCB into the sensing area to generate the dealer key.
Next, connect KD-X4 to the vehicle’s OBD port and open the KEYDIY mobile app. Enter the IMMO programming menu and select Audi MLB immobilizer system.
After reading the vehicle information, turn on the ignition and check the current key status. The system will then guide you through the key learning process. During this step, make sure the air conditioner is turned off and the engine hood is open as required by the system prompts.
Enter the number of keys to be learned and input the verification code collected earlier from the original key. Upload the data and follow the on-screen instructions carefully.
Place the original key PCB in the sensing area first, then switch to the new key PCB. The dashboard will update the key status automatically once learning is successful.
